Reports are emerging of disruptions in broadband and cellular internet services across Pakistan after a widespread power breakdown hit the country early Monday.
Complaints of disruptions in internet services have emerged from various cities, including Karachi and Islamabad. Consumers reportedly started facing connectivity issues following the breakdown that occurred around 7:34am today.
Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore are among the major cities affected by the blackout.
Efforts for the restoration of power are underway, according to a tweet by the Ministry of Energy. Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir told Geo News that electricity will be fully restored across the country within the next 12 hours.
Earlier in October, a similar power breakdown had gripped Pakistan, leaving major cities without electricity for almost 12 hours.
