Taliban bans internet in Northern Afghanistan to “prevent immoral activities”

Pakistan residents are expected to face disruptions in internet this week as the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced repair work of one of its submarine cables.

PTCL has announced that a maintenance activity has been planned one of its  submarine cables due to a fault by international cable consortium. The activity will start on 14 April 2026 and last till 20 April 2026.

“During this period, customers may face internet service degradation during evening hours,” PTCL said in a statement. “We regret the inconvenience please.”

The state-owned telecom giant manages three undersea optical fibre cable networks that provide international internet connectivity to Pakistan.
