TikTok removed over 12 million videos from Pakistan in the fourth quarter of 2022 over community guidelines violations.

In its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, TikTok lays out the amount and type of content and accounts that were taken down between October and December 2022.

TikTok suspended about 12.6 million videos from the Pakistani market, which accounted for 14.7 per cent of the total content taken down from the platform.

Pakistan has yet again secured the second spot on the list with the largest volume of videos removed, with the US taking the lead with 13 million removals.

However, comparing various factors such as the market size, internet accessibility and digital infrastructure, high levels of content removal by TikTok in Pakistan are particularly concerning and warrant increased transparency around removal requests received and acted upon by the platform.

Globally, nearly 86 million (85,680,819) videos were removed; 46.8 million were taken down by automation and over five million were restored after review.  The removal rate has significantly declined in comparison to Q3 2022, which registered more than 110 million TikTok videos taken down around the world.

As for account removal, 54.4 million fake accounts, 17.8 million accounts belonging to underage users, and 3.8 million other unspecified accounts were taken down. TikTok discarded over 1.4 billion fake followers across the global market as well.

In the last quarter, TikTok removed over 14 million videos from Pakistan.
