Man arrested for allegedly harassing women online

ISLAMABAD: A man was arrested here in Rawalpindi by the Federal Investigation Agency, FIA, for allegedly harassing three women online.

According to Dawn Newspaper, the man allegedly wanted the three sisters to have illicit relations with him. He threatened to doctor and upload their pictures if they did not comply.

In March 2018, a man was sentenced to six years in prison and fined 0.7 million Pak rupees for harassing and blackmailing a woman online.

The instances of online harassment have been on the rise and majority of the complaints filed with FIA are related to cyber harassment.
