CNN exposes online forum where men learn how to assault their wives

CNN Equals Investigation has uncovered a porn website in which married men were seen uploading videos of drugging their wives, and assaulting them once they were unconscious.

The website, which received over 62 million visits in one month, contained over 20,000 videos of what has been described as “sleep” content. The content is uploaded with tags such as #passedout and #eyecheck, reports CNN, adding that some videos had over 50,000 views.

An online chat group, where website viewer often meet, comprises chats on men sharing advice on how to drug their partners. One person was even selling a sleeping liquid, while some had advertised live streams for $20 per viewer showing abuse of drugged women in real time.

“Such depravity and violence, and the impunity which has so clearly accompanied it, is unacceptable. CNN’s investigation confirms in the starkest of terms what millions of women already knew – that rape culture is not only still prevalent, but in fact encouraged on platforms such as this. Across England and Wales, 1 in 4 women have been raped or sexually assaulted since the age of 16. Statistics show that 2 in 5 rapes against women are carried out by their partner or ex-partner. And where this is reported to the police, and criminal justice is pursued, 91% of those prosecuted are male. Seeing this unfold in the news and in online spaces is terrifying for all women, many of whom now have answers to questions they didn’t dare to ask, and clarity on a subject that until now has been unclear, said Rape Crisis England & Wales in its statement on the news.
