The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case in Islamabad after an inquiry into allegations that a man expressed an intention to kill his former female friend and allegedly sought information about murder methods using artificial intelligence (AI) and digital platforms, Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
An NCCIA official told on Tuesday that the case was registered following an inquiry into the alleged threats and possible misuse of digital technology.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the suspect allegedly attempted to obtain information and ideas about methods of committing murder using Claude. The official said the allegations were still under investigation and the facts would be established through the legal process.
He said the matter had raised concerns about the misuse of AI tools and digital communication platforms for threats, intimidation and other unlawful activities.
The NCCIA stressed that AI tools and online platforms should be used responsibly and must not be used to threaten individuals, spread fear or support criminal activities.
