Ainak Wala Jin creator calls AI movie ‘a mess of his iconic idea’

Hafeez Tahir, the creator of the famous Pakistani series Ainak Wala Jin, is not happy with the new AI-generated movie of the new series.

Ainak Wala Jin is a series which ran from 1993 to 1996 and then again from 2005 to 2008 on popular demand. The children television series was produced and broadcast by PTV Lahore.

Recently, the AI-generated movie of the series was released on July 24. It was touted as Asia’s first AI-generated feature-length film.

Responding to it in a video message on Instagram, Tahir called remarked, “they got a novice to make an AI-based film and made a mess of my iconic idea”.

The main character Nastoor Jin looks like a ‘daku’ (robber) and Hamoon Jadugar’s face and voice has been ruined, he remarked, adding that they’ve created “bad music” using AI and added it as well.

Tahir even crticised the director and writer of the movie Farhan Khan for not asking his permission.

“I am the concept writer, I named it, directed it and created a good quality serial, gave it to PTV and they made millions off it. If you go to their YouTube page, it still makes millions for the channel,” he said.
