Meta platforms down in multiple countries, NetBlocks reports

Meta-owned social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads are experiencing outages in multiple countries, according to NetBlocks, which tracks internet outages around the world.

“Meta platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads are currently experiencing outages related to login sessions in multiple countries,” says NetBlocks, adding that the outages are “not related to country-level internet disruptions or filtering”.

In Pakistan, users are reporting that they have been logged out of their Facebook accounts and are unable to refresh their Instagram feed. The disruptions started around 8pm in the country.

In response to the outages, Meta Spokesperson Andy Stone said the company is working on resolving the issue.

“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services,” Stone said in an X post. “We are working on this now.”
