YouTube said some users were experiencing problems accessing the video-sharing service, after outage-tracking site Downdetector reported widespread disruptions, it has been reported.
In a statement, YouTube said it was aware that users were facing issues and that its teams were working to resolve the problem, promising updates as more information became available.
Downdetector data showed more than 150,000 outage reports in the United States around 9pm Eastern Time, down from a peak of over 320,000 an hour earlier. The figures are based on user-submitted reports, so the actual number of affected users could be different.
Reports of disruptions also came from several other countries, including India, the United Kingdom, Australia and Mexico.
