Flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa affected on Saturday several cellular and fixed line sites, leading to disruption of telecom services in several areas of the province.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and telecom operators have mobilised to restore service in flood-affected areas.
The PTA said that communication is essential for rescue and relief operations and it’s trying for immediate restoration of telecom services in the province, adding that its workers are in touch with the federal and provincial authorities, and district administration.
Recent catastrophic floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have claimed at least 323 lives, Dawn reported on Sunday. At least 150 people have been reported missing.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority, the monsoon spell is expected to continue till August 22, adding that three more spells are expected in September.
